Hello and welcome to my website. I'm Mike and I work with people to explore and share stories, using audio, video, photos and words. Previous work includes; developing and delivering workshops in arts organisations, charities and schools.
My Passion: I really love working on creative projects with exciting people who want to make a difference through high quality projects.
My People: I enjoy working with anyone who has something important to express; from children to pensioners, disabled or non-disabled and anything in between.
My Stories: Everyone has stories: mine are as long and winding as anyone else's and that's how we connect to each other and the world around us.
A Little Bit of My Story
At 16 I began my work in TV and film, I studied Theatre, Film and TV at KhaoZ Media.
I have trained as a youth worker from my local council and worked as a support worker for independent living, worked on numerous community projects in York, attended all the events I could find, worked on summer schools, aided disabled individuals and found temporary a 'second home' in Space 109, where I worked on projects supporting fantastic artists and young people.
After losing my younger sister, following a ten year battle with leukemia I decided to set up on my own and I am now more motivated than ever to keep working on the right projects to make a difference!
This was the best thing I could have done...
I would like to thank Mind the Gap, who I worked with for a few years and who inspired me in more ways than words can say.
My international work also went from strength to strength and in 2011 I was selected as the UK Relay Reporter: a particular highlight being that I got over 100,000 hits on the media I produced.
I also work with some talented folk at The Creative Condition to produce more fun work which helps sell things in interesting ways that are complimentary to the services they already offer.

Working with award winning touring theatre company, Mind the Gap, I supported their in house team to develop and deliver weekly media sessions for the 'Making Theatre' students who are learning disabled adults working towards formal qualifications in theatre and media.
In 2011 I was selected to represent the UK as a relay reporter for the European Commission's 'Relay' project. As part of the European Year of Volunteering, 2011, I worked with 27 other reporters to build up a picture of what it meant to be a volunteer in Europe in 2011. I produced a number of audiovisual reports in Lithuania as well as a series of blogs describing my daily activities that captivated a large audience across all 27 European Member states; reaching more than 100,000 viewers and contributing to the 1.6 million impressions as part of the global reach of the project. impressions as part of the global reach of the project.
Working with Rosa Productions I delivered a day of presentations and support for member of the public to get involved with the BBC's 'Britain in a Day' documentary project. The final documentary was screened on BBC 2 in June 2012.
As part of Channel 4's 'Inspiration on the Road' at Manchester's Zion Centre, I pitched for and won on behalf of KhaoZ Media, the opportunity to deliver a workshop for around 100 young people from North West schools. Themed around news, we set young people the challenge of writing and delivering to camera a short script on the day's news.
3 year undergraduate degree specialising in theatre and video production.
Sensing that I had broader skills and interests than my course provided, I opted to develop skills in the areas that really excited me and studied them while living abroad for 6 months as part of my degree. As you'd expect, it was a life affirming experience.
